Jessie Schiewe (pronounced “shee-wee”) is the editor and creator of a new online magazine called OK Whatever (which launches in early 2018). Previously, starting in the fall of 2015, she was the music editor for SF Weekly and the editor-in-kief of SF Evergreen.
She has written articles for LA Weekly, OC Weekly, Noisey/VICE, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Observer, Salon, Complex, The East Bay Express, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Oakland Tribune, and Thought Catalog, among other publications. Though her beats are currently music and marijuana, she’s written about everything from tech, science, and health to local news, business, and the arts.
In the spring of 2013, she received her Masters in Journalism from the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley (here’s her alumni profile) and she has two Bachelors of Arts degrees from Wesleyan University.
